Trestle Tracks

I bought this for my grandson. He was totally entertained by the ball motion

This toy is too difficult for young kids and a little tricky to set up. We are saving it for when the kids are older.

Both of my kids (6 & 8) have been having lots of fun with this. My only complaint is that I wish there were more options in the instruction manual. There are 4 possible builds. However, my kids have been experimenting making their own!

My grandson loved it. Put it together right away and loved playing with it. Made the different set ups. He was so excited to be able to do it by himself. He is 8.

Got this for my grandson's 8th birthday -- both he and his 10 year-old brother enjoyed putting it together in several configurations. Only time will tell about it's staying power.

We gave this to our eight year old neighbor for her birthday. She loves it!

My son has loved marble mazes since he was 4, and now that he is 6 he is ready for a bit more advanced construction. This maze fits his growing skill level.

These must be machined to a very fine tolerance to work as well as they do.

This product allows a child to use his/her imagination. There is not just one solution, so, once completed, there is little incentive to return to the puzzle. It helps them appreciate the properties of gravity, and the affects of altitude, slope, and time.

The product presented in the pictures looks larger than it really is, it is made appealing so that you make the purchase though it is not realistic. When you receive it, the actual size is really disappointing. I went ahead and purchased a second one elsewhere (since I was able to find a cheaper price) so that both my grand daughters could play with it.

My son played with this toy marginally since getting it. We got the starter version and it doesn't seem to offer as much open ended play for my son. He made the two builds that was suggested and then lost interest in the toy. Something with more flexible play options up front (such as magnetic tiles) to create an assortment of play would probably have made this a more loved toy for him.

Good quality parts. Beautiful as a sculpture. The entire unit must lay flat and level or the marbles may stop on the tracks (you can use a bubble level to adjust this if the unit is placed on, say, a piece of wood that can be adjusted by putting "shims" underneath the wood to adjust its level.) Also, with taller towers, the clear plastic risers tend to "twist" around the vertical axis when any force (even smaller force) is applied downward to lock them in place. I will probably buy another, larger set. The graphic "screen back" (or greying out of parts) on the instructions for parts that have already been installed is too dark to see adequately. Not good for special needs based on my experience teaching; requires some level of logic to assemble using the instructions. I was very careful in orienting the parts so the marble would roll from uphill to downhill. This is actually a gift for me (and adult) as I collect toy marble rolls of all types. The directions are well illustrated and easy to follow. There are multiple ways to put it together. Once you have mastered the basics, you can create your own designs. The pieces fit together well with the exception of the base. The base is truly helpful in that it holds the pieces in one place, but the base does do hold the pieces well. They frequently detach, causing frustration. That is the only part that does not seem well engineered. Otherwise, this kept our grandson busy for an hour.

I ordered these for my 2 nephews for Christmas. Once I watched them enjoy playing with them, I decided to order a set for my preschool classroom. My students love this set! Highly recommended. My Review of Trestle Tracks

Hours and hours of trestle track builds in our house! Our 7YO asked for them and has built and rebuilt, following some of the suggested tracks in the pamphlet, and creating his own over and over! I'm so pleased to find something non-electronic that actually kept his mind occupied and challenged for hours!

I gave the Trestle Tracks as a Christmas gift for my great niece and great nephew. They live in Texas and I am in Maryland. My sister, their Gram told me they loved it. They like to made different designs. I'll probably send they more sets on their birthdays. My nephew (their grandfather) says the parts are very sturdy.
