Surprise Ride - Grow a Milkweed Tropical Asclepias Activity Kit

My seven year old grandson was very pleased to receive this at Christmas. Everything we needed was included and directions were clear. My grandson was able to perform all the tasks involved to get his plant started except read the directions. He is anxiously awaiting his plant to show signs of life.

My daughter enjoyed the activity but this is not worth the price. I would not buy again.

I feel Ike it's more of a Spring time activity, but it is definitely worth ordering. My kids love butterfly kits and hatching our own butterflies in the Spring so we are excited for it to get here.

This was a great gift for my science minded 1st grade niece. She was excited to open her "science project" gift. The book adds immediate learning while they wait for the seeds to grow. She lives in an area that monarch butterflies migrate to so we hope to see some butterflies on her plants next year!

While not a toy, this item is FABULOUS...especially in a time when our kids WANT to learn...and who doesn't want to learn about nature and BUTTERFLIES?!? This has a mix of great items to keep kids going for a bit...then once the plants start to come up the excitement they experience in seeing the GREW something....then MORE excitement once they get to know what the plant brings in.

I purchased this for my grandson's 6th birthday. He has planted it and is waiting for it to grow to see what it looks like and if it will attract Monarch Butterflies. H was quite excited when he received this as he has an interest in butterflies and in science experiments. As this is not a toy, it was difficult to choose a 'play value' above.
