I purchased pound and hammer bench for my grandson's 1st birthday. My son sent a text letting me know how much he liked it, his big sister liked it too! Later the same day, he sent a video of him chattering and smiling as he played with the pegs, the hammer and the bench. :)

Have purchased two of these for my grandson, one for his birthday and another to keep here when he visits. He loves to use the hammer on the pegs and turns it over to reverse them. Great product for a one year old going on two.

My 10-month-old grandson loved this toy immediately. He quickly learned how to use the hammer. I'll be buying more toys from this company,

The fitment between the pegs and stand is perfect and should last quite awhile

Our 1 year old loves the Pound & Tap Hammer Bench! He got it two days ago for his birthday. He is a bit young to use the hammer yet, but for some reason, out of everything he got for his birthday, he has one peg in each hand every waking minute, won't put them down. He loves to tap the pegs against things, try to put the pegs in things, he just loves them. He also sits at the bench and we put the pegs in and out of the bench holes, but by far this is the toy he loves the most. His grandmother got him this toy, since she had a similar toy way back in the 1960's, and played with it for years - her bench and hammer toy was her earliest toy memory.

This product is well built and easy to use. My son instantly gravitated to it and once the legs were in place started to smash. The bright colors bring a bit of fun to the play as well as teaching what peg is what color. It's the toy that helps with multiple layers of child development.

I was disappointed that the wooden pegs actually come out! For a 1 year old, still teething, I'm not sure it's a good thing and it was a gift.

The pound and tap bench is an old school toy that's been around for years. I'm 64, had on one when I was a kid. It's very simple and inexpensive. Bought it for grandson's first birthday, after another month or 2, he should be able to actually hold the hammer correctly and hit the pegs. His 5 year old sister had some fun with it .

Overall, the toy is very nice. The colors are vibrant. We like that it has the "flip over" feature, as well as the fact that the pegs can come out completely. That allows for inserting pegs based on color, or pattern. This adds a level of learning. We do wish that the pegs would fit a bit more snug into each hole. They slide so easily, that our toddler grandson can simply push them down with his finger. I remember years ago, (for our own children,) that our Fisher Price peg/hammer toy required effort to get each peg down. That was a big part of the appeal; having to use your "muscles." Hopefully, over the next year or so, our grandson will find times when this toy is fun and entertaining.

This product was purchased for my 1 year old grandson. He loves to poke the pegs through with his pointer finger while I call out the name of the colors. The hammer is too big for his hand so he can't control it. I'm sure in time he will be able to use it.

I bought this for my 2 yr old grandson hoping to use it to vent anger and frustration. It works well but the pins get lost easily and the hammer has made many dents already in the bench

Very well made. Our grandson is loving it just like our son did when he was that age.

This is a classic toy and children always enjoy it. As a physical therapist I frequently used In my work. Now I enjoy it watching my grandkids use it.

This is a nice high quality toy. My only concern with it is that the plugs come out of the block completely making it a choking hazard. It would be safer and put me at ease is those were unable to be removed. The child had it in her mouth within a few seconds. Although the pieces are large enough that she's not likely to swallow it, she had half of it in her mouth before I could remove it.

all edges are SMOOTH, no danger (even with bumps/drops/blows) of any slivers appearing on these wood pieces! This toy is built the RIGHT way, finished carefully & perfectly. Grandson (2) ADORES this toy - like most boys, he loves to bang on things!
