My Review of Kids First Level 1 - Automobile Engineer

I believe I may have received an Automobile Engineer item that had been returned. The box was not properly sealed, and all the parts were loosely stored inside the box (I would have expected the parts to be in some sort of plastic bag. The gift was a birthday gift for my grandson who currently resides out of the country. I didn't feel I had the time to return the product and ship a replacement to reach my grandson before his birthday.

I picked this as a birthday gift for my great-grandson. He got a big kick out of making something he considered to be a bus. He seems to be fascinated by buses. His parents enjoyed interacting with him to help him build it. It was interesting to learn what his choice of vehicle was.

I bought this for my 4 year old nephew. He enjoyed it but his 6 year old sister has taken it over. Definitely a hit for the age ranges.

The age range is 3 to 6 on this item. However, there really is no way a 3 year old can do it. I don't really mind because I love playing with my 3 year old grandson. He has enjoyed this toy and I'm sure he will grow into it.

Our 3 year old has played with little else since his Kids First Level 1 - Automobile Engineer arrived 10 days ago. He runs to it in the morning and has to be coaxed from it at night. The best part is that he has not treated it like another set of free-form building materials, but tries his best to follow the instructions, seeking a parent's help when he runs into difficulties. He enjoys the story that goes along with the instructions, but it is the building part that he loves: immediately tearing down each creation upon completion so he can move on to another. And over the last 10 days he has improved so much in how well he follows the instructions. Best toy ever!

The best kind of toy with a wide variety of applications. You are spot on in your age level recommendation. You give the kid a place to start so he/she can discover the potential of the construction pieces, and then you give the kid the chance to improvise independently. My grandson loves it.

The actual vehicles that can be built do not very much resemble the "Fire Truck" etc. that they are supposed to resemble. But the pieces are high quality and do allow for a lot of child (and parent!) creativity, hands on motor skill development and fun.

The age on the box is 3+ but in my opinion the age should be older. The directions can be very difficult for a child to follow. Despite the fact that it is way too hard for a 3 year old my 3 year old does love it and we build together almost daily. I do encourage him to use his imagination to build something on his own that's not in the book, but it is difficult to clip some of the pieces together (especially the eyes). A must buy for a bit of an older child and lots of fun for younger as long

The best toy I've bought for my boys yet!

My son loves books and building and I'm delighted that this toy has exceeded my expectations. He loves just looking at the book and playing with the blocks again and again. Don't think twice- these are amazing sets. Whomever invented this is a genius.

The pieces are well made and a great size for younger children to put together with ease. Three year old grandson is pleased that he can follow the pictorial instructions without help from someone to read the instructions to him.

    Great STEM Kit

Purchased this kit along with the Aircraft Engineer kit for our Library Makerspace activity night. The directions are very easy to understand and the children can see a finished project in about 10 minutes. The different vehicles you can make are a lot of fun.

    The kids loved it

I bought this for my son and my daughter took over. She "read out"the directions to him while he put it together. The coil put it down since they opened it on chcristmas morning! Thank you fat brain toys! This is the only place where I feel like a toy can help them to learn.
