Ivan's Hinge

I bought this as something for my kids to do in the car during long road trips. I liked that it didn't have a bunch of pieces to keep track of. It was more challenging that expected. Even the easiest cards were pretty difficult for my kids to try and solve.

My grandson of 8 really was thrilled by this one. He really seemed to love fidgeting with it and it made a great toy to bring in the car and to restaurants. He chose to bring it every time we went out during the week so I'd say it was a hit. High quality and a good price point. I recommend it.

Good construction, great for casual play or with puzzle cards. A nice fidget especially for a child with autism.

My kids enjoy playing with it, however, the first one broke but Fat Brains returned it with no issues and said they hadn't had 1 returned in the years of carrying it. Likely a fluke. Recommend it.

Although I have not tried the Ivan's Hinge myself because it was a Christmas gift, our son's household is enjoying it. My grown son and dad of 5 eagerly tried it out first and said it's a great brain challenge and fun as well. In addition, it doesn't take up much space!

I gave Ivan's Hinge to my 9-yr old neighbor for her birthday. She had a lot of trouble manipulating it and became frustrated very quickly. I tried to help her complete one of the puzzles on a card but was not able to do it right away myself. She wanted to put it back in the plastic package but coulldn't even do that. Again I tried to help as I saw she was getting upset, but again, I was not able to do it immediately. The birthday girl turned her attention elsewhere as I continued to struggle to get the Hinge back in the package. It was embarrassing for the 9-year old to read that the puzzle was meant for 8+ and she couldn't do it. I know that puzzles often take time to solve and that this child might have figured something out when she was not on the spot. It might help in the future to include one solution to help children who need extra help. Once they see the possibility they may be more willing to put in the time to solve other shapes on the cards.

At first it was a little frustrating. It defenately has a learning curve. I do believe we will continue to play with it and hopefully become more conformal with it

My grandson loves this! We bought it so he could have a new toy to use during a COVID quarantine. He's continues to enjoy it now that he's well again. The first one broke after a couple days, and it was quickly replaced after contacting customer service. Thank you so much!

As a high school math teacher, I try to continue students' natural curiosity in math. This is THE most popular brainteaser toy I have ever bought. I actually now have 3!

Certainly not for everyone. If your kid likes this kind of brain teasers this one is good. Plastic, colors are good, collection of patterns to recreate seems to have different complexity levels - some were reproduced easily, some took a time to arrange. Of course after making all patterns once it is put aside but I hope after a time it will be used again.

I bought Ivan's Hinge as a Father's Day gift for my husband. So far he is very amused by trying to make the different patterns. All 4 of our kids also took turns with it and they enjoyed comparing solutions.

My family member who's son received this gift said her brother had a similar toy years ago that was made much more 'cheaply' with attached strings that held it together breaking not long after he bought it. The child recipient of your product "took it with him everywhere he went last week," and wanted to keep getting 'higher' in difficulty level. Sounds like its a winner!

I bought this for my niece who is 9 and she really liked it. Her little sister who is 5 has also been enjoying playing with it.

This is really a nice puzzle toy for all ages.

Child already had the toy so not able to see it being played with. Child did not seem interested.
