This was a gift for my 4-year-old nephew. His mother says he loves it, because he loves to build things. It encourages creativity as well.

I gave this to my two nieces, ages 3 and 5, and they love it. The 3 year old enjoys watching the gears move and it is colorful, which I enjoy.

This is a great toy and we have enjoyed building different designs with it! The gears are large enough for my toddler to hold and piece together (though a bit challenging to put the connector pieces together for him). The only drawback I can see is that there is only one toggle and I think it would be useful for the set to have a second one. The connectors are a bit awkward to put together, but they do work. It's a fun toy and I'm sure we will get a lot of mileage out of it!

It develops the imaginative thinking of the children. They can snap pieces together and pull them apart, designing and redesigning their own moving wonders. Kids can build anything they imagine. Pieces are sized for small hands. This toy encourages fine motor skills, creativity and problem solving.

My 3 year old and 6 year old absolutely love this toy. It really encourages their collaborative efforts. They've played with it everyday since getting it. I love seeing their creativity and they like seeing how "daring" they can be.

Grandkids (2 & 4) love building, and this is a great addition to their collection of blocks and other building toys. 2 year old just plays with the parts right now, but 4 year old figured it out fairly quickly. Biggest fan is their dad, who is the one who couldn't put it down...

My grandson just had his third birthday this week. He is constantly building and was so excited to receive the Gears! Gears! Gears! as were his parents. His Aunt selected this toy from Fat Brain as a birthday gift for him. She is an early childhood educator and recognizes the wonderful value when we select an educational toy from Fat Brain!

I have a grandson with special needs and problems with fine motor skills. This is great because he gets practice while having fun playing. This is a great toy!

This such a fun toy that gives kids the opportunity to create so many different things and see them all work together. We will be buying more for sure!

We picked these up for our 6 and 4 year old but have had just as much fun playing as the kids. The plastic gears mesh together well, and are strangely satisfying to turn. The gears fit to the base easily and are stable to turn. We like making patterns and figuring out how to put our individual designs together to make a giant gear set. Bonus: our 10-month old can put them in his mouth and I don't have to worry about the pieces being too small for him to swallow.

Our three year old grandson learned how to place the gears within a half hour. After that, he took on making things on his own. The orange and green building pieces are too hard for him to place by himself, so I have to help with those.
