What toddler doesn't love trains? It's simple enough for my 2.5yo to use the drill to screw and unscrew all the bolts. He can even loosen them himself if they're too tight for the drill, thanks to the little "conductor". This is great for a kid who loves puzzles. It also seems sturdy enough to pass on to another kid when he outgrows it. Cute train sounds when you press the button. If you are just looking for a train to "drive" around on the floor in pretend play, you might need to look for one whose cars attach together a little more securely. The cars on this train come apart easily as you steer it around, or if it hits any kind of bump.

Good quality. He was challenged to put it together and needed a little help (he is 2 and 1/2 years old). We were able to let him take it in the bath tub. He could put smaller toys in it while pushing it around.

I gave this Design and Drill toy to my 3 year old nephew. He loved it immediately, put it together and loves to use the drill!

My two grandsons ages 3 and 15 months love this take apart put together train set! They especially like the whistle and lights that go on with a push of a button!

The train is great in the sense that it allows the child to put the train together and screw parts together with the child-safe power tool. Unfortunately, once it was put together it has not been as interesting for my 2 1/2 year old daughter to take it apart and then put it together again. She deconstructed it once before putting it back together again and has not taken it apart since. It now gets as much attention and play time from her as her previous toy train, which is wooden and did not require any construction input. As a result, I am unsure of the replay value for her as her play level is above that of a regular toy train. Given the lack of replay value, while the lesson that everything that we have requires design and construction is valuable, I would not likely recommend the toy for purchase in light of other options. I will keep the toy though for my 1 1/2 month old son to play with, perhaps at an earlier age where a toy train may hold his interest.

I got this for my 3 year old grandson for Christmas and he loves it. It's provided hours of creative play and his 5 year old sister loves it too!

My four-year-old-nephew went nuts when he opened his gift and saw this! He immediately wanted the box open so that he could build the train. He loved that he could screw the wheels on and build the train however he wanted it. Seriously great gift!!

Our 3 year old granddaughter received this at Christmas and couldn't put it down. Was a pro at putting together and taking apart in minutes. Her baby brother also likes the light and sounds.

Email from daughter in law, "Train was a big hit." Recipient was 2+. That is a little young however, this child's father is a handyman, so he has spent his first two years seeing tools in action. This is the second product of this type purchased. Several years ago my daughter told me her son, who was three and half, was very interested in the airplane version of this toy that he discovered on a visit to a friend's home. So the airplane version was a hit with him. We took the chance on the train version for the two year old grandson who is already very focused on tool-work.

This was a hit with a three year old. The screwdriver may be the best part! Being able to manipulate the building of the train makes it a toy that has a stronger hold on the imagination.

I bought this for our 3 year old grandson for his birthday. My daughter said it was his favorite present. He likes tools. When he got home, he grabbed his tool set that he already had (which by the way is compatible with the train tools) and started working. She said he put it together and took it apart numerous times. He is still playing with it daily. Great buy!

My grandson loves it. At first the sound of the drill was a bit scary but he quickly got over it. It was one of the first gifts he opened and was not particularly interested in any others. The train is colorful, a good size for little hands, and he loves using the drill like his father does. He loves taking the tops off of the cars and changing the wheels around. The sound, lights and fact the train moves are big pluses. He had most fun manipulating the pieces.

What a hit this gift was! Our three-year-old grandson could participate in the assembly and everything fit beautifully. He and his dad had a blast putting it together. This is going to be great pastime for him for a long time. I was very pleased that the delivery was so quick too even in a complicated time.

My son is about to turn 3 and LOVES this train. He is very curious and creative and loves to put things together and take things apart. This train is perfect for him to use his imagination and building skills!
