The layout of th toy is good. Fun and easy for kids to use. Our first abacus had a quality control issue as 4 letters had the wrong picture on the back and one had the picture upside down. They shipped us a new one free and that one is good.

I would have loved this toy for my daughter but it was too unstable. As she is over 1 and very interactive, she still spends most of her time on her back/belly and the toy was too easy to tip and could fall on her.

Great toy for learning alphabet letters and their corresponding words.

Sturdy, well-crafted toy. While my nephew is still a bit young to know the alphabet, he enjoyed spinning and moving the blocks at Christmas. It even appealed to the 20-something cousins who then took turns flipping the blocks and coming up with appropriately representative words at speed!

This was purchased for a 2-year-old who has a 4-year-old sister. And as I had hoped, the older sister showed off her skillset which created lots of fun dialogue between the two young sisters. "What's this," asked the younger sister, allowing the older sister to shine. Learning the alphabet can't start too early. It's the gateway to communication. As soon as I saw this "toy" I knew it was the perfect gift.

I got this as a gift for a great-grandson and not only does he enjoy playing with it - his younger brother does also!

Our great niece, Helen, who is going on 2, lives with our niece and her husband in Colorado. We are frequently on an extended family Zoom call and she is the center of attention, either slamming the keys of the laptop they Zoom from or playing with her toys...We have watched Helen play with the alpha-abacus during the Zoom calls and she is a very busy and happy girl, who enjoys it very much...it will be a while until she understands how best to use it. We hope to visit with her in person in the New Year and play with it too!

The Alpha-Abacus is fun to play with on multiple levels. It can help to teach the sounds of letters, it can be a hide & seek toy, it can be used simply to spin the blocks, as well as to learn the order of numbers. The best part of all is that the abacus is one unit, and the blocks do not come off of it, so you are never left hunting for pieces. It can be used from one to four years, so we plan to enjoy the Alpha-Abacus for many months to come!

My niece (2 years old) loves this toy. It's extremely high quality - the blocks and frame are very sturdy and the blocks are balanced so they spin smoothly.

We bought this for our 2-year-old granddaughter's birthday. Her parents told us she's beginning to put words together at a fast clip. This alpha-abacus would be perfect for her! We FaceTime with her multiple times a week and she's always with her Alpha-Abacus! She carries it around and shows off and points to the pictures she knows, and the colors she knows, and the words she knows! She's made the connections! We are so proud of her...and thrilled with the Alpha-Abacus!

The tiles are different on each side so my child can tell me the number and the animal on the back side.

i must be honest, we are great-grandparents and live away from our great-granddaughter who just turned 2 and we sent her the Alpha-Abacus for her Birthday. We communicate with our phones, videos, and get-togethers whenever we can. But, we received a picture of her on the phone and Mom said she really likes the Alpha-Abacus....she is learning her letters already and especially likes the letter f because she is currently into fishes! She will love the Alpha-Abacus because she is curious and interested and loves the colors as well as the pictures along with the alphabet. Thank you for Fat Brain Toys.

This toy is truly incredible! Like all my Fat Brain purchases. I bought it for my 3 year olds birthday and thought she may be beyond this toy but she was not at all. She has been playing with it daily since opening it. Very pleased, fun and educational. The wood construction and over all feel shows it will stand the test of time as well.

Unfortunately, my daughter has hardly played with this toy. But more than that, I was disappointed with the product. I wanted to use it as a toy, but also to teach basic letter sounds. The problem is it has G for Giraffe, I for Ice cream, O for Orange, S for Ship, and X for Xylophone. Usually when letter sounds are taught you start with the short sound. For example G for goat, I for igloo, O for octopus, S for star, and X for x-ray. I think at this point it would be confusing to try to use it as a teaching tool.
